I Really Want to Learn Italian?

I am Planning on taking a trip to Italy, but i don't want to rely on a language dictionary or translator to get me around Rome. I was wondering if there were any free websites that i can go to in to start learning Italian. i really want it to be in depth. I don't wanna spend any money either.
